Student Record Collection and Miscellaneous Statistics |
To comply
with the information and reporting requirements for adequate yearly progress,
report cards and performance indicators of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001
(NCLB), the Department of Education is conducting the End-of-Year (EOY) Student
Record Collection for the 2004-2005 school year. Informational Supts. Memo No.
75, dated May 2, 2003, included specific information regarding the student
record collection and reporting time frames.
The 2004-05
End-of-Year Student Record Collection should reflect students records as of
the last day of the 2004-05 school year as well as summer school graduate
information. The end-of-year collection
also includes a Web-based entry form to collect miscellaneous aggregate
statistics regarding the number of days each school was in session and summer
school attendance.
A detailed
listing of the data elements on the student record, the aggregate data
collected on the Web-based form, and instructions for completing and submitting
the data can be found on the Virginia Department of Educations Web
site at
http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Publications/student-coll/04-05/coll.html.
Data are required by the Department of Education on or
before the closing date of Thursday, September 15, 2005. Early submission and verification is
strongly encouraged as the Department of Education intends to publicly release
graduation data based on the student record soon after the closing of this data
collection. The End-of-Year
Student Record Collection and the Miscellaneous Statistics Web form are
currently open and accessible through the Single Sign-on for Web Systems
(SSWS).
