Additional Electronic Practice Assessment Tools (epat)

The Department of Education is pleased to announce the addition of the following electronic Practice Assessment Tools (ePAT) for the Standards of Learning end-of-course (EOC) and grade-8 tests:

2002 and 2003 EOC Chemistry;

2002 and 2003 EOC Biology;

2002 and 2003 Earth Science;

2003 EOC Algebra II; and

2002 and 2003 Grade 8 Mathematics.

The following electronic Practice Assessment Tools were updated to incorporate annotations:

2001 and 2002 EOC Algebra I; and

2002 EOC Geometry.

Tests also remain available for:

2001 and 2002 Grade 8 English: Reading;
2001 and 2002 Grade 8 English: Writing (multiple-choice only);
2001 and 2002 EOC English: Reading;
2001 and 2002 EOC English: Writing (multiple-choice only);
2003 EOC Algebra I; and
2003 EOC Geometry.

These online tools support and enhance students preparation for the Standards of Learning assessments by providing interaction with released test items. Students can take the tests on the computer and receive immediate feedback about their responses and why they are correct or incorrect. Students may also download and print answer sheets to track their answers.

Students and teachers may now access ePAT through the Department of Education website at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/2plus4in2004/index.shtml and click on the ePAT icon.
