for the 2005-06 School Year Under Provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Public Law 107-110 |
The Virginia
Department of Education has recently received final information from the U.S.
Department of Education about the level of funding for the SDFSCA program.
Total Allocation to
Virginia $8,144,758
Governors Office (20%) $1,628,952
Virginia Department of Education (80%) $6,515,806
Of the $6,515,806
allocated to the Department of Education, funds will be distributed as follows:
School
Divisions $6,059,700
(Entitlement
93%)
Department
of Education $ 456,106
(Programs and Administration 7%)
Estimated funding
information was originally provided to school division coordinators by memo
dated March 10, 2005. Preliminary funding information was also provided as a
part of their technical assistance workshop on May 19, 2005.
The attached table
provides a listing by school divisions of the final Title IV, Part A,
entitlements. This information is the
same as the preliminary estimates provided to the coordinators.
It should also be
noted that all of these funds will be awarded on or after July 1, 2005. No supplemental awards will need to be made
in October.
Applications for
Title IV funding should be submitted by July 1, 2005. Please refer to ADMINISTRATATIVE SUPTS. MEMO NO. 21, May 6, 2005
for detailed information about submission of all federal program applications under
Public Law 107-110, No Child Left Behind
Act of 2001.
