The 2005 General Assembly increased funding for equipment
entitlements for Career and Technical Education to $1,500,000. Attached are the
career and technical education state equipment entitlements (Attachment A),
regional center state equipment entitlements (Attachment B) for fiscal year
2006, and the reimbursement form (Attachment C). Reimbursement request forms should be submitted to Becky Marable,
grants administrator, career and technical education, any time during this
fiscal year prior to June 5, 2006. Reimbursement for regional centers will be
made to the school division serving as the fiscal agent.
Reimbursements may be submitted for the equipment listed in
the Recommended Equipment Approved for Career and Technical Education
Programs, 2005 edition, which can be found on the Department of Educations
Web page at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Instruction/CTE/regulations/equipment.html. All other purchased equipment must have a
letter of prior approval from a state program specialist. Invoices are not to be submitted with
requests, but maintained at the division level for audit.
An inventory of equipment purchased with career and
technical education funds must be kept for any purchased items. Record/Item Numbers can be referenced from
the Recommended Equipment Approved for Career and Technical Education
Programs document under the individual program service number
headings. The itemized list and
invoices for each program service showing the total amount claimed on the
reimbursement request must be on file at the division level for audit.
Reimbursements for eligible equipment in fiscal year 2006
will be 50 percent of the total expenditures claimed not to exceed your
approved entitlement. Questions
concerning eligible equipment may be addressed to James A. Gray, Jr. (Jim.Gray@doe.virginia.gov),
associate director of career and technical education, at (804)225-2833. Questions concerning fiscal year 2006
