2005-06 Teacher Incentive Grants |
The Virginia Commission for the Arts is offering 2005-2006 Teacher Incentive Grants. This highly competitive funding category provides up to $300 in funding for classroom projects designed to link the arts with learning objectives in mathematics, science, history and social science, and English/language arts. Projects must take place between January 1 and June 30, 2006.
Teachers who are currently employed by Virginia educational institutions (PK-12) that are in compliance with Federal Civil Rights regulations and the Americans with Disabilities Act are eligible to apply. Teachers may submit more than one proposal but may receive no more than one Teacher Incentive Grant award. Projects are selected to receive funding through a competitive statewide review process.
Applicants must submit a signed original and eleven photocopies of each completed application. A one-page project description must be attached to the completed original application and to each photocopy. A letter from the school's principal indicating the school's willingness to accept the funds on behalf of the teacher must accompany the application. The school's principal must sign the application as the "Authorizing Official. Schools must provide the school division's federal Employer Identification Number (EIN). The state cannot issue funds unless the school division's correct complete EIN is provided on each application.
Applications must be received by the Virginia Commission for the Arts on or before 5 p.m., October 17, 2005.
