SUBJECT:	Medicaid and Schools Finance and Reimbursement

Earlier this year, the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) sent a letter to school divisions explaining that there will be changes to the Medicaid and Schools program, specifically reimbursement and cost reporting for special education services.

The Department of Education and the Department of Medical Assistance Services convened a Medicaid Reimbursement and

Finance Workgroup, representing the eight superintendents regions. Attached is a letter from Patrick Finnerty, director of DMAS, which explains the outcome of these workgroup meetings.
