Title IV: Safe and Drug-Free
Schools and Communities
Act, Fiscal Year 2006-2007 Progress Report

Section 4116 of
the Safe and Drug-Free
Schools and Communities
Act (SDFSCA) under the No Child Left
Behind Act of 2001 requires the collection of information about state and
local implementation of the SDFSCA.
States are required to submit information on state and local programs
conducted with assistance furnished through the SDFSCA. Information from school divisions is required
for inclusion in the Virginia
report to the United States Department of Education.
This memo is to inform you that the Safe and Drug-Free School
progress report for the fiscal year 2006 (July 1, 2006 June 30, 2007) is due
to the Virginia Department of Education by November 30, 2007.
Safe and Drug-Free School coordinators were notified on
October 11, 2007, of this due date. The
report remains the same as in previous years, except for formatting updates and
additional questions about student assistance programming. The progress reports are to be submitted online at the website http://www.safeanddrugfreeva.org/.
The online submission form and full
instructions for submission will be found at this website as of October 22, 2007.
Individual user name and the password for each division will be mailed
to the SDFSCA school division coordinators by October 22, 2007. This information is necessary to log onto the
survey site to complete the report.
