Technical

Improvement Data Required Under No
Child Left Behind Act of 2001 |
The Virginia
Department of Education is pleased to announce a technical assistance WebEx meeting designed for school divisions implementing
Title I School Improvement sanctions for 2007-2008. Section 1111(h)(4)(F)
of the No Child Left Behind Act of
2001 requires school divisions with schools in Title I School Improvement to collect
data related to local implementation of School Improvement sanctions. These data are collected through the annual School
Improvement Implementation Survey (SIIS).
The Web-based technical assistance opportunity will focus on the data
collection elements required for Year 1 through Year 6 schools and the procedures
for reporting the data in SIIS.
The technical
assistance WebEx will be offered on Tuesday, December
11, 2007, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; and again on Wednesday, December 12, 2007,
from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. To register your school division for one of the
sessions, please complete the attached form and return it to Veronica Tate at veronica.tate@doe.virginia.gov
or fax it to (804)371-7347 by Friday, November 30, 2007. Participating school divisions are asked to
assemble representatives at one location with a speakerphone and a computer
that supports the WebEx application. It
is recommended that the Title I coordinator, SES coordinator, and student
record collections personnel be present for the presentation.
Directions
for participating in the WebEx meeting are as follows:
