Technical Assistance for Completing the 2008-2009 Applications for Federal
Funds Under the No Child Left Behind
Act of 2001 (NCLB) |
The
Department of Education is pleased to announce the availability of Web-based
technical assistance modules to provide guidance for school divisions in
completing the 2008-2009 applications for federal funds under the No Child
Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB).
School
division personnel responsible for developing and submitting the applications
are encouraged to view modules that are pertinent to their area of oversight. A
menu with links to each module will be available March 24, 2008, on the
Virginia Department of Education's website at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Instruction/OCP/nclb-applications.html.
Below
is a listing of the modules that will be available:
1. Application Overview and Mechanics of Data
Entry
2. Common Elements: Conducting the Needs
Assessment,
Completing the Program Overview, Coordination
of
Services, Measurable Objectives, and Budget

Optional follow-up audio conferences will be
held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and Thursday, April
17, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The

8042252869. School divisions are asked
to assemble their representatives at one location and use a speakerphone to
participate at the assigned time.
For
divisions desiring to participate in the audio conference follow-up sessions,
Attachment A contains a response form to be returned by fax on or before April,

371-7347. The form contains a place to
list questions you would like addressed at the workshop.
