The
Department of Education is pleased to announce a technical assistance audio

Preschool Initiative (VPI). The purpose
of this audio conference is to explain changes that have been made to the VPI
as a result of Governor Kaine's proposed expansion of the program and as a
result of the final budget actions of the General Assembly for FY 2009. Discussion will include collaboration of VPI
services with Head Start providers and private providers. The audio conference will also focus on
providing technical assistance to school division staff members who are
responsible for completing the Web-based data collection and application for
the Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI).
In addition to Department of Education staff, Kathy Glazer, executive
director of the Governor's working group on early child initiatives, and Denise
Branscome, Head Start state-collaboration coordinator, will join the discussion.
The
one-hour audio conference will be held on two different dates and times. The first two audio conferences will be held
on Thursday, April 17, 2008, from 10
