2008 Reading First Comprehension
Institute |
The
Department of Education is pleased to announce the Reading First Comprehension
Institute to be held on July 29 30, 2008, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Richmond,
West. The Comprehension Institute is a professional
development opportunity provided by the state as a part of the Reading First
grant.
Participants
will be guided through the process of differentiating reading instruction while
using student assessment information to determine students' instructional
reading levels in order to plan and implement differentiated instruction in the
classroom. Attention will be given to providing differentiated reading
instruction in the content areas with a focus on science and history and social
science.
The
Comprehension Institute is open to all
The
institute will begin on July 29 at 1 p.m. and end on July 30 at 3 p.m.
Registration - Registration will be
conducted through the University of Virginia and will begin April 21, 2008, on
a first-come, first-served basis and can be completed online at www.readingfirst.virginia.edu.

Lodging,
