Information System Request for Proposal (RFP) Contract Awards |
On
July 9, 2008, the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) posted the
announcement of contract awards to four Student Information System (SIS)
vendors Administrative Assistants, Ltd. with their eSIS product; Century
Consultants, Ltd. with their Star_Base product; Contemporary Computer Services,
Inc. with their eSchoolData product, and Infinite Campus with their Infinite
Campus product. The pricing and vendor proposals can be reviewed at: http://www.vita.virginia.gov/procurement/contractBrowse.cfm?qsCat=1000056
These awards
provide school divisions the option to purchase these products directly;
however, school divisions may choose other solutions not on this list by
issuing their own RFP.
The Virginia
Department of Education (VDOE) did not rank the four awarded SIS
products and does
not prefer any particular SIS product over the other awarded products.
All the awarded
solutions meet the minimal requirements of the RFP and in the opinion of the review panel, demonstrated that their product was among the best
solutions. In
addition, other SIS applications not awarded a contract may also be viable
solutions as
long as the product can meet
the needs of your local school division and provide tools
to meet the requirements for state and federal reporting .
If
you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Project
Coordinator Peter Coleman via e-mail peter.coleman@doe.virginia.gov
or telephone (804) 225-2039.
