Verizon Thinkfinity is the Verizon Foundation's free, comprehensive Web site (www.thinkfinity.org) containing educational resources, including standards-based, grade-specific, K-12 lesson plans; student interactive tools; and reference materials. Content is provided through a partnership among the Verizon Foundation and 11 of the nation's leading educational organizations: American Association for the Advancement of Science, International Reading Association, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, National Center for Family Literacy, Council for Economic Education, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Council of Teachers of English, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, National Geographic Society, ProLiteracy, and the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
The Verizon Thinkfinity Web site has been recently updated, and teachers may find new lesson plans and student interactive tools to address both timely and customary topics. A new Community feature at http://community.thinkfinity.org/ allows teachers to communicate with each other and track their own favorite resources online. Teachers can also now search for Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) materials at http://www.thinkfinity.org/state-standards-search.
The Department of Education has also launched a Thinkfinity in Virginia Web site at http://www.thinkfinityva.org/. This site provides Virginia teachers with specific resources and a training request form for individuals and groups.
