SUBJECT: Technical Assistance Academy for Coordinators of Title I, Part A; Title I, Part C; Title I, Part D; Title II, Part A; and Title III, Part A

The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce a professional development academy on August 2-3, 2011, for coordinators of the following programs:

Based on evaluation feedback from previous academies, the 2011 agenda is revised so that the morning session on the first day is dedicated to technical assistance for Title I, Part A, coordinators. On the second half of the first day, general technical assistance sessions applicable to all the program areas listed above will be offered. Sessions on the second day are open to all coordinators. A draft agenda is attached.

The Academy will be held at the Holiday Inn Koger Center in Richmond, Virginia. Registration will be held from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on August 2, and the sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 4:15 p.m. On August 3, the sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 4:15 p.m. Space is limited to 250 participants, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Breakfast, breaks, and lunch will be provided on August 2, and August 3. Lodging, if required, will be master billed. Mileage and meals not covered on the master bill may be charged to the respective local federal program in accordance with state travel guidelines. If lodging is required, a reservation must be made directly with the hotel.
