SUBJECT:  2013 Virginia Pupil Transportation Conference, June 17-20, 2013

The 2013 Virginia Pupil Transportation Conference, sponsored by the Virginia Association for Pupil Transportation (VAPT) and supported by the Department of Education, will be held at the Holiday Inn Koger Conference Center in Richmond, June 17-20, 2013.

Information regarding the details of the conference has been sent to the pupil transportation director in your school division.  Registration is scheduled for Monday, June 17, beginning at 11 a.m.  For the first time this year, Virginia’s Best School Bus Technician competition will be held on Monday.  The annual road-e-o competition for regular and special needs bus drivers will be held on Tuesday.

The conference will include two National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) classes.  Some of the workshops to be held include the Pupil Transportation Report, the Overall Cost of a Bus, Financing/Leasing School Buses, and Engines, Emissions, and Alternative Fuels.  Exhibitors will be present to discuss their products with drivers, technicians, and directors.

A special invitation is extended to division superintendents and other school personnel involved with or interested in pupil transportation.  Registration information is contained in the package that was sent to your pupil transportation director and is also posted on the VAPT Web site at:
