The Yale School of Music extends an invitation to Virginia’s music teachers to participate in a Symposium at Yale in New Haven, Connecticut, on June 4-7, 2015. The Symposium will honor thirty-five music education partnership programs from throughout the United States for their outstanding accomplishments teaching music in public schools. Over the course of four days, two representatives from each partnership will participate in a variety of discussions and workshops, culminating with the presentation of seventy YALE DISTINGUISHED MUSIC EDUCATOR AWARDS at the closing banquet.
Award recipients will be based in part on the following considerations:
Music education teacher nominations must be submitted at http://music.yale.edu/community/music-in-schools/symposium/2015-symposium/ by February 13, 2015. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of music professionals, and those teachers selected will be notified by March 9, 2015. Award recipients will be invited to attend the Symposium on Music in Schools with all expenses assumed by the Yale School of Music.
