SUBJECT: Announcing the 2016 Educators Rising-Virginia State Conference

The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce the 2016 Educators Rising-Virginia State Conference to be held on Saturday, March 12, at Floyd E. Kellam High School, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  The state conference is an excellent opportunity to involve educators and businesses in supporting students who aspire to become teachers.  Watch for more information from Virginia Beach Public Schools.

Educators Rising-Virginia is the cocurricular career and technical student organization for the Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow program.  This organization builds leadership skills and inspires secondary students to consider a career in PreK–12 education.

School divisions across the commonwealth are invited to host the Educators Rising-Virginia State Conference in the future.  Manassas City Public Schools will host the 2017 state conference and Prince William County Schools will host the 2018 state conference.  To learn more about hosting the state conference, please refer to the Guidelines for Leading the Educators Rising-Virginia State Conference.
