SUBJECT: Announcing Professional Development for Technology and Engineering Teachers

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is pleased to offer a physics refresher workshop for teachers of technology and engineering courses.  This training is specifically for currently licensed technology education teachers who wish to enhance their knowledge of physics.  The 20 hour workshop will be conducted at Grassfield High School, Chesapeake, Virginia, on June 21-23, 2016.

Teachers will study physics principles through hands-on applications.  The course trainer, instructional resource materials, and the certification tests will be provided by VDOE.  Participants are responsible for all meals, travel-related expenses, and lodging, if needed.  School divisions’ Perkins funds are allowable for this expenditure.  Teachers must preregister to participate in this workshop.  Registration is limited.  Refer to Attachment A for the registration form.
