Amending the Charter of the Accountability Advisory Committee: Expressing the Intent of the Board of Education to Include Members having Knowledge and Experience in the Education of Students with Disabilities

WHEREAS, on March 23, 2000, the Board of Education adopted the charter of the Accountability Advisory Committee (Board of Education Resolution Number 2000-1); and
WHEREAS, Section 1 of Article Two of the charter specifies the number of members that shall be appointed to the Accountability Advisory Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, by action of the Board of Education, Section 1 of Article Two of the charter for the Accountability Advisory Committee is hereby amended, as follows:
Section 1. Composition. The Committee shall consist of twenty-three (23) members and two Committee Co-Chairmen. Two of the twenty-three members shall have knowledge and experience in the education of children with disabilities. All initial members of the Committee and the Committee Co-Chairmen shall be appointed by the President of the Board and thereafter, all subsequent vacancies and appointments shall be made by the Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Education shall appoint such new members as soon as possible following the date of adoption of this resolution.
