Educational Technology Plan

The 2024-2029 Educational Technology Plan for Virginia has been reviewed by the State Board of Education and was accepted as part of their Comprehensive Plan.

The Code of Virginia requires the Board of Education to develop a plan, consistent with, or as a part of, its comprehensive plan, a detailed comprehensive, long-range plan to integrate educational technology into the Standards of Learning and the curricula of the public schools in Virginia, including career and technical education programs. There is also a National Educational Technology Plan

Local Educational Technology Plans

VDOE provides assistance and resources to help schools divisions develop local plans that are consistent state plan per state law. Please see § 22.1-253.13:6. Standard 6. Planning and public involvement, section B., second paragraph for specific language. Since the division technology plan is considered part of the division comprehensive plan, it should be reviewed and revised, as needed, at the same time as the division comprehensive plan. Divisions will report that their technology plans are consistent with the annual SOQ Compliance and Other Certifications Data Collection.
